What is Numerology?

Numerology is one of the most talked about topics but one of the most misunderstood concepts in our culture. Even though you can trace its roots back thousands of years it's never gotten the respect it deserves. Many people define Numerology as a study of numbers, while in reality, it’s the study of the relationship between numbers and people and how numbers affect the flow of energy in the universe. The concept, is that every number has a different vibration and a predictable affect or manifestation in the world. Numerology focuses on how people with different numbers, have different personalities, different roles in the world, face different challenges and experience life differently.

The Basics

If you’ve just recently gained some interest in numerology and are completely new to the world of numbers, this article will get you started with the basics. The first thing to keep in mind is in numerology, every number is reduced to a simple single digit. We always reduce the numbers to their simplest form. For example, if you were born on September, 18th 1996, you’ll calculate:

Month - September = 9

Date - 1 + 8 = 9

Year - 1+9+9+6 = 25 = 2+5 = 7

Now add all those single number together:

9+9+7 = 25 = 2 +5 = 7

So your result is - 7

Number Meanings-

Number 1

This number is the stem that holds all the other numbers together. You see this quality reflected in Number 1 people. They are strong, self- sufficient and possess all the traits that a leader should. People with this number can be stubborn but often enjoy a life free of unwanted emotions. Young number 1s may be very dependent on others, learning later in life to be self dependent and take on leadership roles they're meant to have.

Number 2

Number 2 is the most composed yet witty in nature. Filled with sensitivity to one’s own and other’s emotions, they are excellent caregivers and nurturers. They avoid confrontations at all cost but when reached out to for support, they have the patience to listen, and clarity to resolve the situation peacefully. Their sensitivity is often mistaken for weakness, when in reality, it’s actually their strength.

Number 3

People who are represented by this number are creative in nature. They enjoy life to the fullest and are often the source of happiness in the life of others. With such high energy, this number must learn self-discipline and the ability to balance their emotions.

Number 4

The most shy, yet most dependable people fall into this number. They are known for their organizational skills and hard work to reach the goals they desire. Sometimes they have a hard time connecting with others. Keeping a balance between work and social life and finding peace in chaos is the key to success.

Number 5

For number 5 people, a life without adventure is boring and mundane. They are happy-go-lucky people who can lift anyone’s mood. They are talented and lucky, but can be impulsive. This reckless side of their personality can take a toll on their life. Taking the time to slow down and be more deliberate can help bring number 5s into balance.

Number 6

People with this number are like the glue that bonds people together. Within family, friend or community circles, they often put others needs before their own. They are motivated by the happiness of others, which drives their ofte, philanthropic endeavors. Number 6s must learn to give without sacrificing their own wellbeing.

Number 7

Number 7s have old soul type behavior and outlook on life. They are witty, intelligent and intuitive. They present a calm and relaxed demeanor from the outside, but are secret perfectionists. In reality, many number 7s are over thinkers with busy minds that run non-stop. Learning to control their thoughts is an invaluable skill for number 7s to live a peaceful life.

Number 8

Number 8 rules the world of finance and material possessions. People with this number often desire a life of luxury and are willing to work hard to get it. These people excel in the world of business and are good at reading people and their true intentions, which serves them well in this line of work. Number 8s must learn to balance their desire for material wealth and learn to live a more heart centered life.

Number 9

This number represents an end of a cycle or period of time. People with this number are generous and believe in giving back to the earth and its people. Nines feel a connection to the universe and understand their place in the whole. They are driven to care for the whole of humanity and want to care for society the way others care for their families. Nines need to understand that you can't save the world without taking care of yourself.
